This set of tapestries were woven on a floor loom with a variety of yarn types, all hand-dyed. After researching the weavers of the Bauhaus, I decided to create my own interpretation of a geometric wall hanging. While weaving, I enjoyed observing the playful interactions of color and weight between the warp and weft as I slowly built up each block. Different sections include plain weave, twill variations and basket weave structures. The end result harkens back to my love for patchwork quilts.
